Senior Patent Counsel Jobs description
A senior patent counsel works with business units, patent engineers, and outside counsel to develop intellectual property strategies early in the business and technology planning cycle for the protection and commercial exploitation of intellectual property. A senior patent counsel coordinates periodic reviews of the existing patent portfolio with patent engineers, patent review committees and licensing, business and engineering personnel to enable cost savings by abandoning patents that no longer support the intellectual property strategies. A senior patent counsel conducts patentability/infringement studies and prepares legal opinions and analysis of patents. This person provides legal support for US and foreign patent generation and patent portfolio maintenance.A senior patent counsel requires 5+ years of experience in patent prosecution and a bachelor\\\'s degree in a relevant science focus. A senior patent counsel requires strategic management of patent and litigation matters and should be eligible to obtain a national security clearance. In addition, a senior patent counsel should posses’ strong interpersonal skills, technical knowledge, and superior writing ability.
