We’re the team that’s responsible for managing reports surrounding Facebook’s policies and procedures, complex legal issues and the changing landscape of free speech on the Internet. We are passionate about building trust and giving a voice to the most people. We mitigate legal risk and make the world more open and connected while scaling our operations to support Facebook’s 1.8 billion users. As a member of the Contractual Rights team, you'll play a key role in innovating, improving and handling legal matters efficiently and quickly to ensure that Facebook meets its obligations in music contractual agreements. You'll use data-driven techniques, industry-leading workforce management, advanced process improvement and legal and policy expertise to ensure that we comply with Facebook's obligations and strengthen our strategic partnerships. This team touches a wide array of Facebook's Legal, Media, and Music ecosystem and has a diverse group of stakeholders across the team and company.
We are seeking an experienced candidate who is passionate about Facebook's products and our mission, and is relentless in finding smarter, better, faster ways of getting things done. This role will be heavily focused on building and strengthening cross-functional relationships, developing strategies in support of our music licenses, contractual obligations, and other rights. Successful candidates will be self-motivated, data-oriented, have an ability to work across different time zones, and experienced in executing global projects from inception to launch. This is a full-time position located in Austin, Texas.
Develop a deep expertise in legal aspects of Facebook’s rights management products, licensing, and music licensing agreements, to effectively advocate for product improvements, support escalations, partner needs, and user experiences
Develop strategy to support music contractual obligations, prioritizing efficiency and global scalability
Support music contractual obligations through a review of escalated issues, iterating to make improvements in process and operational effectiveness
Support Facebook’s media and licensing partners, collaborating with Partnerships, Legal, Product, and Operations teams, to understand and resolve product questions and legal concerns
Become an expert in core operational risk infrastructure, tools, systems, and data
Execute both quantitative and qualitative analysis of data and trends to proactively deliver insights, define goals, and drive improvements
Effectively plan and execute team-wide projects to further our mission and improve user experience while liaising with cross-functional partners in Legal, Operations, Product, Engineering, and Partnerships to move these initiatives forward
Define clear business problems and prioritize solutions using data-driven analytics, developing success metrics to measure project performance and alignment with team mission and goals
B.A. or B.S. degree or higher
3 years of work experience in end-to-end project management, product, business strategy, and/or operations
Experience in the field of intellectual property, music/video licensing, or digital rights management
Demonstrated track record of disciplined execution, acting independently across competing priorities and exercising judgment
