PLAINTIFF MDL ATTORNEY - New Orleans:
Small but mighty downtown plaintiff firm expanding, adding senior level attorney to staff to handle multi-district litigation (MDL). Firm is seeking attorneys with a minimum of 15 years practice experience specifically in MDL litigation, and who have performed far more substantive work than the typical qualifying and settlement stages. Must have prepared and answered briefs, replied to requirements, made court appearances, deposed experts, etc. specifically in prior MDL matters. Those without extensive Federal experience in MDL matters in particular, with only class-action/mass tort experience, cannot be considered for this position, which will be considered the MDL team lead for the firm. Costano, breast implant, BP and similar case exp. not applicable unless candidate was in a lead attorney position in these matters and heavily involved in the upper stages of the litigation. COMMERCIAL LIT & TRANSACTIONAL, Northshore:
Reputable firm is adding two attorneys to staff. Seeking LA barred, northshore resident attorneys with 3-5 dedicated years of Federal and State exp. in either business & commercial litigation, and/or transactional. Some bankruptcy exp. woudl be a plus for either position. Exp. should include casualty-based litigation as well as suits based on contractual claims among business entities, and suits against governmental entities, or by such entities seeking enforcement or compliance. Bank litigation (debt collection, foreclosure, defense of lending policy claims) will also be part of the portfolio assigned to the successful candidate(s). Candidate must have a minimum of 3 yrs. of commercial contracts experience, preferably in the 3-5 year range, but firm may be open to other year's experience ranges as well. The candidate should be domiciled within the greater Lafayette area. Firm is seeking an attorney with experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts. Construction contracting and procurement experience would be ideal, but there would not be a steady diet of that.
