Position will perform advanced, professional, and highly confidential support functions supervised by the Director, Office of Technology Management. Incumbent will be expected to coordinate a diverse range of projects related to intellectual property management and technology licensing including, but not limited to, identifying research with commercial potential; evaluating the relative commercial potential of technologies; identifying potential licensees; preparing non-confidential, targeted, technical information for marketing purposes; developing and implementing specific marketing strategies for each technology; and drafting and negotiating agreements necessary for the office's activity including material transfer, collaboration, inter-institutional and nondisclosure agreements. A high degree of demonstrated initiative, enthusiasm, independent decision-making, strong work ethic, communication skills, and organizational ability will be necessary to complete tasks in a timely manner. Considerable diplomacy and interpersonal skills are necessary characteristics, as the incumbent will regularly interact with investigators, Deans of the various Schools, staff members from other academic institutions and private companies, attorneys, business executives from major drug and device development companies, entrepreneurs from small startup ventures, venture capital executives, and community leaders from the public and private sectors.
Master's degree in Biological or Life Sciences
One (1) year relevant professional experience
PhD Biological or Life Science OR
Three years of related professional experience or post-doctoral research experience

The primary responsibility of the Office of Technology Management is to advance innovation by serving the faculty, staff, and students; support the research enterprise; and partner with entrepreneurs and businesses to commercialize inventions that enhance the economy and benefit the public.
In partnership with the Office of Research Services, we are charged with establishing and enabling the relationships necessary for certain aspects of research and collaboration to occur, including the negotiation of Material Transfer Agreements, Nondisclosure Agreements, and Inter-Institutional Agreements.
