Provide risk assessment opinions and medical opinions on underwriter files. Create and provide training to Underwriters on morbidity and mortality risk selection.

• Virtual office location is available.

• Relocation assistance to our MN Headquarters location is available.

• Full-time or Part-time opportunity available.

Responsibilities:

• Provide risk assessment (mortality and morbidity) opinions on underwriting  files.

• Create strategic plan for training the underwriting group, create and provide some of that training.

• Stay current with clinical and insurance medicine trends; provide input on underwriting guidelines, and procedures, and risk assessment tools

• Handle  sensitive case  related correspondence and manage the overall sensitive case process.

• Communicate with the field and applicant’s physician on escalated or complex cases.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of four years of experience in individual life underwriting.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex information.

• Superior electrocardiographic interpretative skills.

• Minimum of 5 years clinical experience beyond residency.

• Current license to practice medicine in good standing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Board certification in Insurance Medicine is preferred.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex information.

• Individual disability and long term care underwriting experience preferred but not required.

• Minimum of 5 years clinical experience beyond residency.
