The Copyright Administration Group maintains and administers the copyright registrations for The Walt Disney Company and its affiliated companies, including its motion picture studios, media networks, publishing, online and other segments. The personnel in this group register several thousand copyrights per year, handle recordations and related matters, maintain a database accurately reflecting the status of these registrations, handle archival work, and work with other groups throughout the company to provide accurate information on these copyright interests.
The Copyright Coordinator will assist with the data integrity and validation of Disney’s copyright and recordation records including both physical and digital materials. The Copyright Coordinator will also assist with the digital file conversion and storage of copyright related materials and with the Copyright Group’s day to day administrative activities.
Main responsibilities includes, but are not limited to the following:
Validating and updating data in an electronic database by reviewing documents and/or other databases;
Scanning and digitizing documents and linking them to specific records in the database;
Filing and archiving of physical and digital files;
Handling initial intake of a high volume of materials, documentation and information required for copyright registration and related work;
Organizing same and creating new records in copyright database;
Researching and gathering information and documentation for special projects; and
Administrative duties such as mailing, shipping, proofreading documents and answering phones.
Basic Qualifications :
2 years of legal related experience
Ability to work with data in databases
Strong writing & oral communication skills.
Strong research & analytical skills.
Ability to prioritize and pay attention to detail.
Proficient at Excel & Word
Strong follow-up and follow-through skills
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple demands
Ability to recognize and eliminate inefficiencies
Accepts and promotes continuous improvement
