The Senior Counsel - Marketing & Trademark will report directly to the Vice President, IP & Product and will partner closely with the Chief Marketing Officer, VP of Brand, and global marketing organization to lead the legal team’s support of the world-wide **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. brand, including all aspects of domestic and international trademarks, copyrights, communications, press releases, competitive activities, marketing and advertising content review, marketing agreements, vendor partnerships, social media activities, sweepstakes & contests, and domain name strategies, while driving programs, policies and strategies to reduce marketing risk and developing and participating in efforts in connection with brand enforcement and litigation.
What You Will Be Doing
**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is seeking a full-time Senior Counsel - Marketing & Trademark to join our IP and Product Legal team. You will be working as part of a small and dynamic team and will be responsible for:
Partnering with our CMO, VP of Brand and corporate and product marketing teams to support growing world-wide brand awareness, marketing activities, advertising compliance, marketing content review, and general marketing support.
Handling all aspects of the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. trademark program and efforts, including, reviewing trademark watch notices, conducting trademark searches and clearances, providing opinions on trademark potential and risk, responding to all outside counsel requests, providing statements of use, and overseeing all trademark disputes and enforcement efforts.
Handling all aspects of the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. copyright program, including registrations, providing opinions on copyright potential and risk, and overseeing all copyright disputes and enforcement efforts.
Reviewing world-wide marketing collateral, including, press releases, customer communications, ad campaigns, white papers and success stories, as well as competitive materials to reduce manage legal and regulatory risk and compliance.
Advise on applicable laws, disclosure requirements, and regulations regarding marketing, advertising, social media, sweepstakes, contests, promotions and brand protection.
Work closely with the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. IT team to monitor and drive all legal issues connected to the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. domain name strategy and tactics.
Reviewing, interpreting, drafting and negotiating marketing agreements, including, trademark and copyright licenses, social media, sponsorship, clearance, co-marketing and marketing partnership agreements.
Owning and incorporating process improvements where necessary.
What You Bring to the Team
JD from an ABA-accredited law school and admitted to a U.S. state bar organization for the jurisdiction where the candidate is working and in good standing.
8 years of legal experience in trademark prosecution and experience in-house and/or at major law firms.
In-house experience as a trademark and marketing counsel at a technology company strongly preferred.
Significant experience providing legal support for marketing campaigns, promotions, and advertising
Good verbal communication & collaboration skills.
Must be willing and able to work in a fast paced, open office team environment.
