**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. in Troy, NY seeks an independent self-starter with an affinity for trends in technology to serve as Business Administrator for the Office of Intellectual Property, New Ventures and Technology Transfer (IP,NV,TT).

The successful candidate will perform standard business administrator functions such as budgeting, forecasting, purchasing, expense reconciliation, and coordinating with Payroll and Human Resources, while ensuring compliance with institute and relevant agency rules

Notably, the Business Administrator will also be responsible for using database and reporting skills to transform data into actionable and informative messages as instructed by the Executive Director. As such, candidates are required to have solid MS Access or other database skills.

The successful candidate will be a clear communicator, with the ability to be direct when necessary, with internal and external constituencies in all matters related to the Office. IP, NV, TT matters include, though are not limited to licensee compliance, contracts, accounts receivable, and a variety of institute processes. Extreme attention to detail in all matters is critical.

As a member of a small team, the Business Administrator must be willing to work across functions, as tasks and responsibilities are often shared.

Candidates are required to have Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or similar field, along with three (3) years of related, progressively responsible experience in a financial position, such as accounting or budget administration. Though not required, experience managing the administrative and business functions for in a higher education environment, including budget preparation, intellectual property policy, financial management, and human resources is helpful.
