Intellectual Property Paralegal — Atlanta

Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP is looking for an IP Patent Paralegal for the Intellectual Property practice in our Atlanta Office.  This position will operate as part of a team of attorneys, specialists and staff and will assume ownership for all aspects of file management to ensure a high level of service to both internal and external clients. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

Responsibilities

Support IP attorneys, patent agents, and technical advisors transmitting documents to respective clients and maintaining patent and trademark files for the Intellectual Property group as assigned

Draft USPTO documents, responses, client letters and other correspondence

Prepare application papers for U.S., PCT and foreign patent applications

Daily review of attorney docket report and attend to completion of deadlines

Perform research and E-Filing of documents

Prepare and maintain client status reports and client protocol requirements

Obtain copies of patents other such documents as requested

Assist in patent filing strategy discussions and due diligence

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of three (3) years of Intellectual Property paralegal experience

Law firm experience preferred

In-depth knowledge of patent law and practice a must; knowledge of trademark law a plus

Excellent organizational skills and accuracy

Professional demeanor and attitude

Solid written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work both individually and collaboratively to accomplish projects and meet tight deadlines

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while ensuring timely completion

Must be proficient with USPTO procedures and filing protocols

Must have strong client service skills and ability to follow client specific protocols

Strict attention to detail with ability to operate in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency in MS Office applications suite

Visio experience a plus
