Bridgestone Americas, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated trademark attorney with 5-7 years of experience to handle legal trademark matters for the Bridgestone, Firestone and associated brands. This position will be located in the new Bridgestone Towner headquarters building in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. The position is part of the Bridgestone Americas, Inc. Law Department and reports to the Chief Counsel, Intellectual Property.
Support the marketing, sales and legal teams on trademark, domain and marketing issues.
Review print, broadcast and digital advertising, promotional materials for trademark and copyright compliance and usage.
Conduct trademark clearance, prosecution and maintenance in the U.S.
Draft and negotiate trademark license, coexistence and consent agreements.
Oversee domestic trademark opposition, cancellation and litigation enforcement, including investigations, strategy recommendations, drafting cease and desist letters, and gathering discovery.
Domain name portfolio management including registering, maintaining and enforcing domain names, including filing UDRP proceedings.
Collaborate and communicate directly with global parent company in Tokyo, Japan.
Manage domestic and foreign outside counsel.
Educate the business on trademark guidelines, usage and law.
May manage applicable legal support staff.
Law degree from an ABA accredited law school and strong academic credentials. At least one state bar membership.
Flexibility and ability to prioritize, organize and work efficiently and independently in a high-volume, results-oriented environment.
A keen business sense, the skills to find creative solutions to legal issues, and the ability to effectively balance legal risks against business interests.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to interact effectively with a variety of personalities across diverse groups, teams, divisions, and cultures.
