The Navigant Intellectual Property (IP) practice works closely with internal and external industry experts to offer full-service IP valuation, strategy, and transaction services across cutting-edge technology areas including ICT, life sciences, medical devices, energy, and financial services. Navigant IP professionals combine state-of-the art data and analytics with advanced valuation methodologies to support decision-making in portfolio management and monetization. The Navigant IP team actively structures and manages joint development and licensing programs and negotiates IP-based transactions. The team also provides damages analysis including research and discovery to support lost profits and royalty calculations and the delivery of expert testimony. They employ advanced valuation methodologies to appropriately measure the profit contribution of IP together with their insights, network, and experience in the IP marketplace to enhance client returns.
Manage and supervise teams on Intellectual Property engagements
Participate in business development initiatives that include targeting external clients, attending industry conferences, and speaking engagements
Supervise and conduct data gathering activities including document review and supervision and quality control of data entry activities
Develop, perform and supervise detailed financial, economic and statistical analysis
Training and development of more junior level staff
Responsible for engagement planning and management
Assist in proposal development
5 years of experience in litigation/disputes consulting firm providing Intellectual Property Strategy, Transaction or Disputes work
Bachelorâ€™s degree from an accredited college/university in accounting, finance, economics or related discipline.
MBA, CPA or CVA a plus
Strong understanding of the various legal and regulatory issues that could Intellectual Property in the Global Marketplace
Strong project management skills in monitoring billing of hours, training and development, and providing supervision
Must possess sound judgment and be able to operate independently
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet timely deadlines
Ability to travel
Frequently communicates with clients and coworkers and must be able to share information effectively
Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently
Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously
Able to travel via airplane with minimal assistance to client sites across the US and potentially internationally
Usually remains stationary for the majority of the day
Regularly uses close visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare and analyze and transmit data
