Associate or Patent Agent— Intellectual Property & Technology
Our Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group has an opening for a patent agent or associate with a minimum of two years of experience. This position may be based in our Washington, D.C. or Nashville offices. Successful candidates will be admitted to the USPTO and have extensive experience in biotechnology, biomedical engineering, molecular biology or similar disciplines. Candidates with a Ph.D. and lab or research experience are preferred. The role requires at least two years of experience drafting patent applications and conducting U.S. and foreign patent prosecution.
The ability to concisely and effectively communicate complex matters in oral and written form is required. Staff Attorney — Labor & Employment
Our Labor & Employment Practice Group counsels employers in labor and employment matters in three broad categories: day-to-day employment counseling, training and auditing; employment litigation; and traditional labor law. Our clients include union and non-union companies, as well as public and private employers ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small, locally-owned businesses across a wide variety of industries.
Our Labor & Employment Practice Group has an immediate need for a staff attorney with a minimum of two years of management-side labor and employment experience, including litigation of employment cases. Primary responsibilities to include, but not limited to, research; project-based work such as audits, employee handbook reviews and drafting employment agreements; document review, including e-discovery; drafting EEOC positon statements; drafting answers, responses to written discovery, and drafting motions; and due diligence in the context of corporate mergers and acquisition transactions. This position can be based in either our Knoxville or Nashville office.
