We are looking for a talented Associate Corporate Counsel attorney to support our Customer and Brand Protection teams. You will partner with these rapidly growing teams as they design, develop and implement new strategies, tools and services to ensure a trusted shopping experience through Amazon’s Stores. You will help these teams (i) identify areas of risk (legal, reputational, and compliance) related to fraud, abuse and safety and determine proactive and reactive mitigation measures; (ii) engage with our Seller and Vendor Partners to promote common objectives; and (iii) participate in the investigation of external complaints, in coordination with other legal teams at Amazon.
Principal duties include providing ongoing legal counseling to a fast-moving and innovative team of builders, analysts, and business leaders across a wide range of legal areas, including Customer protection from fraud and abuse, product safety and regulatory compliance. You must be able to act as an exceptional representative of Amazon to external stakeholders. Some travel, domestic and international, will be required.
Amazon is constantly innovating on behalf of our customers and working with Seller and Vendor Partners, regulators, and third party experts, to improve the ways we detect and prevent unsafe products from reaching our marketplace. We are looking for someone with strong judgment who can think big while sweating the details to support these crucial innovations.
J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active membership in one state bar is required
Minimum of 2 full years of attorney experience
Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
Strong written and oral communication skills
