Responsibilities Promotions Advise internal clients on marketing campaigns with contesting\/sweepstakes elements, including:\u00a0 Drafting rules for contests and sweepstakes for internal clients.\u00a0 Reviewing, negotiating and drafting promotion, prize provider and promotion-related vendor agreements. Reviewing and revising official rules for contests and sweepstakes with external partners to ensure compliance, including bonding and registration as necessary.\u00a0 Keeping current with terms and conditions and promotion guidelines for current and emerging social medial sites (FB, Twitter, etc.), user-generated content sites and influencer campaigns.\u00a0 Presenting to internal clients on current topics relevant to contests and sweepstakes, including social media platforms\u2019 promotions guidelines and FTC guidelines. Trademarks \u00a0 Oversee SME\u2019s global trademark portfolio, overseeing all filings, office actions and enforcement decisions; review watch notices and advise on, and execute, appropriate action.\u00a0 Supervise trademark searches and clearances, and analyze and advise on results for internal clients, including providing written risk assessments of trademark usage; advise on, and oversee, filing of new trademark registrations.\u00a0 Assist with management of trademark litigation; negotiate and draft settlements regarding trademark conflicts\u00a0 Conduct internal trainings and presentations on the basics of trademark law and the process of trademark search and clearances. Other Advise on, draft and effect local registrations and agreements for commercial co-ventures.\u00a0 Assist with a variety of commercial agreements on an as-needed basis. Qualifications J.D. and New York bar admission required.\u00a0 At least 2 years of experience in a law firm or in-house position focusing on advertising and trademark issues, including experience with FTC guidelines and applicable advertising laws and regulations.\u00a0 Knowledge of intellectual property law desirable.
