Overview
The Global Branding and Trademark Coordinator is responsible for two key areas in the continuing successful global marketing of FMC products.  The first area relates to trademark where the coordinator is responsible for submitting application and maintaining trademarks on a global level. This involves system maintenance to ensure deadlines are met. The position works with external trademark agencies as well as internal trademark coordinators located across the Globe. Other stakeholders includes product managers and legal teams.  Branding of products is another important component of FMC\u2019s growth strategy and the position supports in the process of establishing new brands, building brand architecture around these and prepare global material necessary for the implementation of the brands. This requires coordination with advertising agencies and internally with marketing and communications teams.  In the longer term there will be room for developing and expanding the role depending on the candidate\u2019s interests and capabilities.  The positions reports to a Global Portfolio Manager and is member of dynamic and International Marketing team. The position is expected to have limited travel.
Responsibilities
Global Trademark Management:

Proactively manage budget through leveraged filing strategies
Leverage trademarks across countries/regions
Coordinate with regions / countries timely trademark requests and actions
Align new trademarks within the context of the current portfolio architecture
Coordinate and track legal team trademark activities and priorities to ensure strategy execution
General cooperation with legal
Maintain a database of global trademark information to:

Ensure consistent trademark records that link to commercial products
Provide visibility of portfolio brands to the organization
Capture strategic decisions for future review
Track trademarks under license to 3PPs or distributors
Capture all trademark candidates searched and the results to recycle for future opportunities if unused
Maintain specific country regulatory/trademark requirements related to trademark management

Develop filing strategies to meet country regulatory requirements
Provide guidance and oversight to countries who develop local language translations of new trademarks

Brand Development:

Support Brand management to ensure Stewardship
Work with global and regional marketing teams to develop and communicate brand strategies for each new offering
Support the development of brand architectures and brand names that support product positioning
Coordinate new branding projects to ensure consistent name development within/across portfolios
Support value proposition development in alignment with Global and Regional Portfolio/Product Managers
Participate in global trade-naming projects to facilitate global brand objectives
Implement linguistic/brand surveys to identify key barriers to new tradenames, e.g. negative translations or competitive marks, and key stakeholders are engaged
Provide branding guidance and direction for all materials, e.g. communications, packaging, giveaway items
Ensure that relevant material is available to subsidiaries and other interested parties

Required Education
BA or BS in Business Administration, Economics, Public Relations, Agriculture, Marketing, Legal or equivalent experience
Qualifications

Experience of 5 years in a similar role
Knowledge of trademarks, branding and related issues, preferably in various geographies
Windows applications: Word, Advanced Excel, Power Point, Outlook
Good organizational skills and ability to have an overview of a database with many different trademark entries
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a matrix organization and handle ambiguity.
Strong inter-cultural skills. The job will require interaction with colleagues in different countries across the globe
Strong written and oral presentation skills
Resourceful and proactive in seeing projects through completion
Relationship with many areas of the business (Global Marketing, Regional Marketing, Legal)
Some knowledge of the agricultural industry would be an advantage
