An intellectual property litigator advises clients on a full range of intellectual property matters, with a particular focus on patent and trade secret matters and intellectual property litigation. An intellectual property litigator manages large intellectual property litigation cases in patents & trademarks; and trains, supervises, and motivates legal assistants and litigation specialists to meet tight deadlines and provide quality work. An intellectual property litigator devotes a significant portion of practice to patent litigation and pre-litigation counseling in numerous industries, including pharmaceuticals, sporting goods and apparel, printing and packaging, hardware and power tools, and many others. An intellectual property litigator may defend against charges of trade secret misappropriation in the aerospace industry, and may also be involved in a wide range of internet-related litigation. An intellectual property litigator may have to effectively assert numerous copyright infringement claims, protecting an artist\'s unique works.
An intellectual property litigator should have 2+ years of experience in the field of intellectual litigation. Experience with computer/ network/ internet intellectual property litigation, and life sciences litigation is preferred. A technical background (e.g. engineering, science, chemistry etc.) is advantageous; strong top-tier experience in intellectual property litigation and ability to work both independently and collaboratively is a plus. An intellectual property litigator must have excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
