Intellectual Property Patent Associate Jobs

An intellectual property patent associate practices in the areas of patent application preparation and prosecution, third party patent studies, intellectual property due diligence, infringement litigation support, license agreement drafting and negotiation. An intellectual property patent associate performs all administrative tasks related to foreign and domestic patent filings, including but not limited to patent applications, information disclosure statements, assignments, responses to office actions, amendments to claims, preparation of correspondence to foreign associates relating to foreign patent applications etc. An intellectual property patent associate communicates with clients and foreign associates to ensure applications are filed accurately and timely. An intellectual property patent associate carries out follow-up with attorneys and takes appropriate actions as necessary and clears daily docket and notifies docket clerk of any inaccuracies and reviews attorneys\' dockets for accuracy and makes sure due dates are met.

An intellectual property patent associate requires a four-year degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, physics or related sciences. An intellectual property patent associate should have minimum of 3 years of experience in patent prosecution, drafting, and domestic and foreign patent filings. An intellectual property patent associate should be willing to handle a mix of patent and trademark litigation and intellectual property transactions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for this job.
