Intellectual Property Partner Jobs

An intellectual property partner’s job is to advise clients on all aspects of the management, exploitation, and enforcement of intellectual property. An intellectual property partner provides legal advice on commercialization strategies, legal services in relation to the research activities and to technological development and the application of knowledge within the company. An intellectual property partner’s duty includes contract drafting, review and negotiation, collaborating with and instructing external legal counsel in relevant matters, advising on legal aspects of local and international commercial transactions. An intellectual property partner also advises on legal aspects of establishing, managing and fundraising for technology start-up companies. An intellectual property partner is always keeping abreast of knowledge management initiatives (e.g. precedent development, matter debriefs, resources for lawyers, training materials, and presentations), and management of legal files.

An intellectual property partner requires a bachelor's degree in science and a minimum of five years of experience in intellectual property field. An intellectual property partner should be proficient in MS Office suites. An intellectual property partner should have the ability to supervise and provide job training for the junior team members, deal with clients directly and be able to manage and develop the practice. An intellectual property partner should have an ability to work autonomously, as well as alongside intellectual property specialists. An intellectual property partner should be able to work across a broad range of complex intellectual property matters as well as manage and develop a portfolio of quality commercial intellectual property clients.
